While leaks are totally unsurprising in this day and age, we do agree that they take away the thunder of the smartphone manufacturers who would otherwise like to make an impression. Adding to the list of ongoing leaks, this week is the new Xperia M4 Aqua - a device which was rumored besides the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet to be announced by the company at MWC 2015. The Xperia M4 Aqua already showed itself in the Red color and today, we have the M4 Aqua posing for us in white.
All this adds just enough clarity to the list of announcement we can expect from Sony. Both, the Xperia Z4 tablet and the Xperia M4 Aqua will be water and dust resistant. One of the key highlights of the Xperia M4 Aqua is expected to be its water resistant USB port, this means there would be no more fiddling around with flaps or worrying about the same to ensure coverage under warranty in the event of water seepage. Another clear indication that the Xperia M4 Aqua gives is that it is built very closely to its elder sibling - the Xperia Z3. Both share rounded metal edges and even the speakers, which too are resistant to water and dust. There is a bottom-facing speaker, although we would've liked the front-facing setup over here as well. Moving to the back, we have the similar glass design element covering the entire back. The camera is in the same position as the Xperia Z3 and is apparently a 13 MP shooter. The specifications of the device hint to a pretty mid-range device. The Xperia M4 Aqua is expected to bring a Snapdragon 610 64-bit QuadCore processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 5.2 inch 720p IPS LCD display and a 5 MP front-facing camera. There would be 16 GB of on-board memory, we do not know if there would be expansion capabilities with the help of a microSD card slot.
Does the Xperia M4 Aqua pack enough of a punch to make you consider this guy in the future? Well, Sony has improved their design a lot, the company was awarded by the IF Design Awards for their Xperia Z3 as well as the Xperia Z2 tablet. We can see that the Xperia M4 Aqua has borrowed more than a few design cues from the Xperia Z3 and that makes it look more refined. There isn't much of a wait for the official announcement so please, hang around for the details.
