China is home to many, many smartphone manufacturers. You probably already know a lot of them, but there are a lot of those that are not that well-known, at least not outside of Asia. Beidou is a somewhat well-known brand in China, but not many people outside of Asia have heard of it though. This company wants to leave a mark out in the market though, and we've recently heard rumors that they're working on a high-end device. We're not here to talk about that though, but yet another affordable offering by Beidou.
A couple of days ago, an image appeared, showing us the back side of the upcoming Little Pepper 7 handset by this company. The report also stated that this will be a really affordable device, though we didn't get much more information unfortunately. Well, another Beidou-branded Little Pepper device surfaced today, and it resembles the earlier Little Pepper 7 leak, it actually seems to be the very same device. This new leak brings a couple of new images to the table, including some additional info as well. According to this new leak, this handset might be a China Unicom exclusive, at least initially, and it might cost only 399 Yuan ($64). This is an incredible price point, isn't it? What do you get for such a low price? Well, according to the leak, this device will feature a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Marvell's PXA 1908 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz will power on this device, and an 8-megapixel snapper will be available on the back of this smartphone. 4G LTE connectivity will allegedly also be supported, which is both unexpected and great, considering the price point of course.
This is obviously not the powerhouse device, but what can you expect for such a low price point. If this leak is legit, and Beidou manages to release such a handset for 399 Yuan ($64), that would be somewhat impressive. Xiaomi has recently said that they won't be releasing a 399 Yuan handset, but it seems like Beidou might do just that, at least according to this leak. Stay tuned, we'll report back as soon as we get some additional info. Until then, check out the images in the gallery down below.
