This morning saw Google launching their very own physical store in London. This was a proper store and full of only Google associated products and services. This was also followed this morning by the equally intriguing news of a more worldwide available online store in the newly made live Google Store. Following on from this, it seems some devices are starting to become more widely available too. The first notable device which has increased in its availability through Google is the Asus ZenWatch smartwatch. This is the first offering by Asus in the smartwatch industry and was first unveiled back at IFA last year in Berlin.
Until now, the ZenWatch has only been available on Google Play to those who live in the U.S. However, with the launch of the new Google Store, it now seems that availability has increased to include order ability and delivery to the UK, France, Germany and Japan. At least, according to the device country availability listing on Google (source link below). Of course, you could have picked it up from third party retailers in the various countries. For instance, the ZenWatch was noted available in the UK round about Christmas time from Currys. However, if Google Play (well, now the Google Store) is your purchase location of choice, you now can order through Google.
If you are thinking about picking up the ZenWatch then you might want to know what you are getting. If that is the case, then here is a quick spec recap. the Asus ZenWatch comes with a 1.63-inch curved AMOLED display with a 320 x 320 resolution. Inside, the ZenWatch comes with 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor (clocking at 1.2GHz). Additional features worth noting include Bluetooth 4.0, IP55 weatherproof rating, as well as a biosensor which can be used to measure heart rate. Not to mention, the device is one of the more elegant looking Android Wear offerings. If you are interested in picking up one (and are from one of the newly announced countries) or just interested in finding out more about the ZenWatch (or the new Google Store) then you can head over to the Google Store now.
