Galaxy S4 Black Edition Gets Android 5.0 Lollipop

Remember the Galaxy S4 Black Edition? It's okay, we forgive you if not however, owners of the Galaxy Note 3-ified version of the Galaxy S4 will be happy to hear that Android 5.0 is on its way! Those in the UK should expect software version I9505XXUHOB7 to hit their device, while those in South Korea should expect something similar. As with all Samsung updates to Lollipop, you shouldn't expect anything major, but more an update to the under-the-hood stuff.

LG L90 Starts Receiving Lollipop Update

The LG L90 was released quite some time ago now, and it was designed to offer a quality experience without breaking the bank. These mid-range devices often sell well for LG, especially in emerging markets like India, Russia and Latin America. LG is rolling out the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop this week. The software comes in at almost 800MB in size and has a software version of V20a-Mar-01-2015. It should be rolling out throughout India and surrounding regions as you read this.

Sony Updates the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 Line to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop

This week's big Android news is the update to Android 5.0.2 for the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z3 series of devices. Sony may have taken their time with these updates, but they're coming thick and fast now. We'll start with the Xperia Z2, specifically the D6503 model which has been getting the 23.1.A.0.690 software version. Right now, this is only the Baltic and Nordic regions in the EU, but this same software version should steadily head West shortly. This same version number is rolling out to the Xperia Z2 Tablet, both the SGP511 Wi-Fi Only version and the SGP521 LTE model. As for the Xperia Z3, and Xperia Z3 Compact the D6603 model of the Xperia Z3 and the D5803 of the Xperia Z3 Compact are getting the same 23.1.A.0.690 update. And yes, the very same update is hitting all models of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact as well. Right now these updates are heading out in Europe, but if you just can't wait then Xperiablog have put together an excellent guide on how to jump the gun.

Spice Dream UNO Gets Android 5.1 Update

In an interesting move, it would appear that one of the Android One devices in India, the Spice Dream UNO is heading straight from KitKat to Android 5.1 Lollipop. This is a quick turnaround from Google either way, as it beats even the Google Nexus 9. The build number here is LMY47O, and the update should be rolling out in India right now.
