Android Lollipop-Powered Micromax Canvas Juice 2 Listed For Sale Prior To Official Announcement

Micromax is one of India's biggest smartphone manufacturers. This company mainly releases low and mid-range devices, though they do release a high-end unit from time to time. As a side note, the YU company behind Yureka handset is actually owned by Micromax. That being said, another Micromax-branded devices seems to be available for sale in India, though not officially at this point. Sounds confusing? Let's see what's what, shall we.

It seems like the Micromax Canvas Juice 2 is now available for sale via some retailers in India, and it is also listed on Ebay India for Rs. 9,100 ($145). We're talking about a rather solid mid-range device here, and Micromax will quite probably officially announce it in the coming days. The Canvas Juice 2 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS display covered with Corning's Gorilla Glass 3 protection. This device is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (quite probably a MediaTek unit) and it ships with 2GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card). This thing also comes with Wolfson Stereo DAC speakers and Android 5.0 Lollipop pre-installed it seems. 8-megapixel rear-facing camera is a part of this package and the LED flash is located next to the sensor itself. 2-megapixel snapper is available up front for your selfies and video calls. 3,000mAh battery comes built-in here and it will offer up to 9 hours of talk time according to the information on the box. The provided information also says that the device can last up to 435 hours in standby. 4G LTE connectivity isn't available here, only 3G connection is available.

The device itself looks quite good, as you can see in the provided image. It looks somewhat similar to the HTC's One flagship line, though this handset is quite probably made out of plastic (polycarbonate), not metal. That's pretty much it, we'll get more details when Micromax decides to officially unveil this device, and that will happen soon for sure. In the meantime, let us know what you think about this device's specifications and looks, and also check out the rest of our Micromax coverage if you'd like.
