Acer Announce Acer Liquid Leap+ Smartband With Changeable Straps, Notifications And Music Controls

By the middle of last year, Acer had announced the launch of a new wearable to the market, in the form of the Acer Liquid Leap. This was a rubber smartband with a one inch touchscreen and was designed to track your steps, fitness, calories and sleep times. Well, following on from the Liquid Leap, Acer have today at MWC 2015 announced a follow-up smartband in the form of the Acer Liquid Leap+.

The Acer Liquid Leap+ comes with a one-inch OLED touchscreen. The smartband is designed with much more flexibility in mind compared to the predecessor and as such is far more adaptive in its style, function and purpose. Following on from the fitness tracking nature of the Liquid Leap, the updated Leap+ not only tracks steps, running distance, calories and general fitness, but is also designed to better interact with your smartphone at a more fundamental level. As such the Leap+ offers basic music control features including the ability to play, pause and skip tracks (back and forward). Not to mention, the smartband is capable of displaying all the standard notifications you would expect from a wearable device included SMS, email and calendar alerts. The Liquid Leap+ will sync to your android device via Bluetooth 4.0 and will come with a companion app, Acer Leap Manager.

In terms of its physical attributes, the Leap+ can be further customised compared to its predecessor, with the ability to interchange straps. This exchangeability will come in the form of a number of available colored rubber straps including Charcoal Black, Fuchsia Pink and Lime Green. In addition, the Leap+ is waterproof (IPX7) and as such can be worn as an all day and all condition smartband. Not to mention, Leap+ is also equipped with a curved surface designed to limit the amount of direct skin contact. The concept behind the curved surface, is to offer users more room to breathe and as a result, keeping the skin much cooler. Acer have announced that the Acer Liquid Leap+ will be available to buy this month in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In terms of price, the smartband price will be set at €79.
