Xiaomi Plans To Launch U.S. Based Mi.com Website In The Coming Months

Xiaomi is one of the fastest growing start ups in history and is already the biggest smartphone manufacturer in China, but smartphones are not the only thing they sell. A lot of different stuff actually makes up the Xiaomi product offerings including things like the Mi Band, Xiaomi's connected home offerings, headphones, and tons of other items. Up until now Xiaomi hasn't really had any sort of official presence here in the U.S., but as of today we've gotten word that Xiaomi is planning on launching a Mi.com website in the U.S. in the next few months. This isn't technically official yet but Xiaomi's plan seems to be to have things up and running by summer.

Once the site goes live you can expect to find all manner of Xiaomi products there for purchase, like the Xiaomi apparel, connected home products, Xiaomi's Mi Band wearable, headphones, and pretty much anything else Xiaomi sells on their already existing website. The only thing they will not be selling on the site are their smartphones. Xiaomi did mention however that they do have a plan to bring the smartphones to the site for purchase at some point, but as this is still a plan in the works there is no definite time frame on when we might be able to purchase Xiaomi devices via the site here in the U.S. if at all.

For now it looks like we'll be limited to a plethora of other Xiaomi electronics and products, but even to that end this would be a good start to Xiaomi setting up a presence in the U.S. to get the consumers here acquainted with the brand. Although buying Xiaomi's smartphones in the U.S. are not a definite thing at this point in time, it is possible that we could be seeing Xiaomi devices available stateside sooner than we may have thought. Even though we may not immediately have access to devices like the most recently launched Mi 4 in the U.S. officially when they plan to launch Mi.com, their phones are still available via other avenues as you can sometimes find them on Amazon and other sites. This will also give consumers a chance to check out some of the other stuff Xiaomi has on offer.
