Samsung's Unpacked event will be held on March 1st in Barcelona as part of MWC (Mobile World Congress). The company is said to unveil their new flagship handset, the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S6 Edge was also heavily rumored in the last couple of months, and according to rumors, this device will sport a curved display both on its left and right sides. Samsung has released a ton of teasers in the last couple of weeks hyping up the unveiling of the company's Galaxy S6 smartphone(s). Several U.S. carriers also teased the arrival of the device recently, and it seems like Samsung's marketing machine is working round the clock.
Anyhow, a new report came our way from India, stating that the Galaxy S6 will launch in that Asian country by the second week of April. This report comes from Fonearena which relies on their unnamed sources. The pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 are expected to commence in the second part of March, and the phone will most probably launch in April. Something similar happened when Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 4 actually, so this doesn't come as that big of a surprise actually.
We still don't know the exact specifications of the Galaxy S6, naturally, but we've seen a lot of leaks, including leaked specification leaks. According to that info, the Galaxy S6 will be powered by Samsung's 14nm Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor, which leaked in a number o benchmarks and showed its rather high processing capability. This processor is also said to be 30-35% more power-efficient. The Galaxy S6 will also ship with 3 or 4GB of RAM and a 20-megapixel camera on the back, at least according to the leaks thus far. Android 5.0.2 Lollipop is expected to come pre-installed on this device with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top of it, and the phone is also said to sport a QuadHD display which will reportedly be slightly over 5-inches in size. Take all of this with a pinch of salt though, as already mentioned, we're talking about leaked information here, nothing is confirmed regarding its specifications just yet.
