There is little doubt that in the lead up to MWC this weekend, all eyes will not be on two particular companies. They are Samsung and HTC. While HTC will be unveiling their next flagship the HTC One M9, Samsung will be looking to break the cycle, answer its critics and reenergize their branding, with their latest flagship offering, the Samsung Galaxy S6. With so much riding on Samsung’s latest device, it is not surprising that there has been a ton of rumors, leaks and speculation over the last few days, weeks and even months. There has been a variety of leaked images and renders and only this morning the latest of these popped up, claiming to show the other Samsung S6 device, the Galaxy S6 Edge.
Well, this afternoon, known YouTuber Unbox Therapy has posted a video on his account, with what is claimed to be the first real unveiling of both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S Edge. Both devices are shown in the video, although not extensively. Mainly, there is a front shot of the S6 Edge (shown above) and the rear shot of the Samsung Galaxy S6. Although, the video does claim that there are virtually no differences between the S6 and the S6 Edge and therefore, the back of the S6 is presumed to be the same. One notable difference between the two is that the S6 Edge will apparently come with a 50mAh bigger battery capacity.
What is equally interesting, is that as well as the images, Unbox Therapy claims to know some of the specs that the S6 pair will come with. For instance, the video clip suggests the two versions will both come with a 5.1 inch 1440p display. Inside, they will both come with 3GB RAM and powered by an 8 core (octa-core) processor. Not to mention, the video goes on to confirm that the S6’s will come equipped with wireless charging. Which was also semi-confirmed in another report this morning. In terms of the outside, both devices will come with Gorilla Glass 4 on the front and back of the devices. This will be accompanied by an aluminium frame. The video goes on to confirm that due to the employment of the glass and aluminium backs, the cover will not be removable, the battery will also be non-removable, the device will not be waterproof and there will be no microSD card slot. Lastly, the video touches on the fact that the fingerprint scanner will no longer be swipe functional and instead will be much more similar to Touch ID used by Apple.
So there you go. You can check out the video for yourself below and let us know what you think. Is this the first real look at the two S6’s? How do they sound?
