New HTC One Renders Showing Evolutionary And Revolutionary Designs

HTC's announcement unveiling of the new One device is only a handful of days away; it's this Sunday afternoon, Barcelona time if you are counting. Meanwhile, artist Martin Hajek has put together a set of beautifully designed renders showing off not one, but two potential designs of the new HTC One based on a number of existing designs we've seen, such as the alleged leaked promotional video and a number of designs from case manufacturers. Each image shows two potential HTC handsets, one being the Evolutionary Design and the other the Revolutionary Design, shown together.

Of the two designs, the Revolutionary model has much smaller BoomSound speakers and a centre-mounted front facing camera, not too unlike the HTC One Eye model and some of the mid-range Desire handsets we've seen over the last six to nine months. Because the two models have slightly different color schemes, it's easier to see the black lines between the unibody alloy construction of the Revolutionary handset, but these look very similar between the two models. You'll note that the Revolutionary Design has repositioned the volume keys on the side by moving them higher up the chassis and this means it has a smaller pop out panel for the SIM or MicroSD card. Another difference is that the rear camera lens assembly protrudes a little on the Evolutionary model whereas for the Revolutionary design, it sits either flush with the back of the chassis or even slightly recessed. Another difference is the placement of the front, bottom HTC logo: the Revolutionary design has a larger screen because the logo has been moved down, thanks to a smaller BoomSound speaker grill.

It's possible that HTC will release both designs but for different smartphones; perhaps the Evolutionary Design is closer to what we'll see this weekend and the Revolutionary Design may be closer to how HTC will present a HTC One Max (or Plus) device later in the year? Writing of this weekend, the specifications of the new One appear to have been all but leaked: HTC will be using a 5.0-inch, 1080p resolution screen, an octa core big.LITTLE 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3 GB of RAM, a 20 MP rear camera assembly and a 2,900 mAh battery. Are you excited for the new handsets to be shown at the MWC? Are you planning on buying the new HTC? Let us know in the comments below.
