Microsoft's Yammer App Gets Android Wear Support, Smarter Notifications, And Prettier Links

Take your corporate social networking to the next level with the Yammer app from Microsoft, especially if you have and Android Wear smartwatch, which the app now supports thanks to Microsoft's latest update of the app. Yammer for those who don't know helps you connect with colleagues and other people(the right people as Microsoft proclaims)inside of your organization or company so you can collaborate and share ideas, organize projects and search for information related to anything you may be working on with a team of people. The idea behind it is to help you do more, become more productive and keep you connected with those you work with while cutting out all the other stuff of your everyday social networks.

With Android Wear's easy quick reply features, you can now use Yammer from your wrist which can help you stay on top of whatever it is you're working on as you don't have to pull out your phone to reply to messages. This alone can prevent people from getting distracted by their devices which have endless streams of other types of content. This is just one way of thinking how this new update makes the app much more useful and effective, although it may not be the first thing that comes to mind for some.

If you're still going to be checking Yammer from your handset or tablet, you'll be happy to know that Microsoft has also updated the app to include an enhanced notification experience. When you get a Yammer notification, the LED light is now activated and will pulse to let you know a new Yammer message or notification has popped up. Yammer notifications are also displayed in a  thread view, and you can even like posts right from the notification drop down panel without opening the app, leaving you free to get back to whatever it is you were doing, yet show appreciation for a post. Microsoft also states that push notifications now no longer persist in the status bar if you have read the messages elsewhere. Microsoft has tried to improve the visuals as well, by making links appear with bold images as the backdrop. If you're already using Yammer, the update should be live for you, if you'll be a first time Yammer user, you can grab the install from the link posted above.
