There is little doubt that the last few months have been the Lollipop months of the Android era. Ever since Google unveiled Android 5.0 Lollipop and released the source code to AOSP, everyone has been obsessed with when Lollipop will land on their devices. In fact, it has not only been the device owners that have been obsessed with Lollipop but also the manufacturers. Most of the big names of the android world were quick to jump on each others bandwagon and all announced a similar time-frame for when they will release the android update to all their devices. As such, we now find ourselves back in among Lollipop hype again now, with all those carriers working hard to make sure their promises are kept…to the best of their ability.
One of those manufacturers who were quick out of the door with their Lollipop update was LG. The other South Korean manufacturer was quick to push out Lollipop to the LG G3, although it still has not reached all devices, on all carriers, in all regional areas. Well, the very latest on the onwards LG G3 Lollipop saga is that the update has now started rolling out in the Middle East. The latest news came from a user who saw the update landing in the region and let Phonearena (source link below) know.
However, what is really interesting, is that the user who reported the update landing was not reporting that he had personally received the update. Instead the information came from an LG G3 handset the user had come across randomly in a phone shop. As you can see in the images below, the user was testing out the phone in the shop and noted that it had already received the update to Android 5.0 and as such decided to take a few snaps so everyone else would know the update is in fact en route. Next time you are passing your local phone shop it might be worth popping in and quickly checking what devices Lollipop has arrived on. Make sure to let us know if do spot any new landing Lollipop updates when out and about.
