InfoSonics Brings 6-Inch Screens to the Budget Market with the Verykool s6001 Cyprus

For years, budget phones were often only tiny little smartphones with screens smaller than the original iPhone.  As higher priced phones grew in size, however, so did their cheaper brothers, and now it's difficult to distinguish a cheaper phone from a more expensive one by just looking at it.  Chinese manufacturers have played the biggest role in the expansion of cheaper large devices, however, this time around it looks like the newest budget phablet-sized device is coming from a San Diego, California-based company called Verykool.  Verykool's products are sold in 20 countries around the world and the company has been making smartphones for a couple of years now, even if you may not have heard of them before.

Their latest is the 6-inch s6001 Cyprus, a large smartphone with a 720p display and a fantastic price.  At $199 the s6001 Cyprus is a steal no matter how you gauge the value of your phones, and lines up perfectly with the likes of ZTE and a number of other Chinese manufacturers who offer similarly sized phones at this price range.  Powering the phone is a 1.3GHz Quad-core CPU, likely a MediaTek CPU since the model isn't specified, and of course the 6-inch 720p display mentioned earlier.  1GB of RAM powers the experience alongside Android 4.4 KitKat, which was the first version of Android that Google optimized for phones with less RAM.  The phone features 8GB of internal storage as well as MicroSD card support up to 32GB so you can store those photos, videos and music without worrying about space or losing them.

A 13 megapixel camera is found on back along with a 3 megapixel shooter up front, giving you plenty of resolution for selfies or video chats.  The phone fits in a very slim 8mm profile and packs a 2,300mAh battery inside, which is smaller than most phablets but should prove to be OK given the resolution of the display and the lower power processor.  Dual SIM support ensures that you're covered no matter what countries you're working in or what carriers you're on, so long as the bands applicable are supported of course.  Outside of that you've got the standard WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy and Google Play certification to wrap up the package.  Verykool is also throwing in a pair of earbuds and a gel case to sweeten the deal, adding a little bit more value to the overall package.  Check the manufacturer's page below to find out more about the phone and where you can buy it.
