Featured Review: Divoom Voombox-Party Bluetooth Speaker

A Bluetooth speaker that has NFC, and is water-proof and shock proof, is definitely a speaker to check out. And that's what the Divoom Voombox-party speaker is. Divoom's Voombox-party speaker is a nice sized speaker that outputs a ton of sound (and it sounds great), but it's also got NFC for pairing, and is water and shock proof. And since I live up in the northern part of the US and we have a ton of snow (thus large snow banks), I figured I'd toss it in the snow and see what happens. It kept playing, and now a few days after that, it's still playing perfectly fine.

Similar to Sony's devices (i.e. the Xperia Z, Z1, Z2, and Z3) it does have flaps for the ports. So there's a flap over the micro USB and 3.5mm headphone jack. Which keeps the water from getting inside the speaker. Making it waterproof. This speaker is built for the outdoors, even when it's cold, like really cold. It also features advanced audio performance which delivers a full-range of listening experience. The bass is nice and heavy with this speaker, and I love it.

On the battery life front, we've got a 12-hour battery here. Which is variable as expected. If you use the Divoom Voombox-party at a lower volume, it'll last longer on the battery than at a higher volume. So I could typically get about 12-15 hours of continuous playback before needing a charge. Of course, that's unofficial numbers as I can't show a screenshot of battery life like I could on a smartphone. The Divoom Voombox-party uses Bluetooth 4.0 to connect to just about everything. Including Android smartphones and tablets, and the iPhone and iPad. Divoom has also included a built-in mic so you are able to take calls from your speaker with ease.

It's a great speaker here from Divoom and one I'd definitely recommend to everyone out there. We have the black version here, but it also comes in blue, red and green. It's available from Amazon for as low as $80, which is a really great price for this speaker.
