LG dropped a new Watch Urbane video on us yesterday, showing off the "full-metal entity furnished with the most meticulously crafted gold and silver linings" touting the new watch as something that will bring "endless beauty, long-lasting ingenuity and essence of luxury to your life." By all accounts, the Watch Urbane should do that and more. In the promo video we see the watch from all angles, as well as several watch faces that fit well with the Watch Urbane's design. It's a really nice looking watch that steps up the quality when compared to the G Watch and G Watch R. This thing looks great. Judging by the comments on YouTube, just about everyone agrees with us about that.
Spec wise, the LG Watch Urbane is essentially the same as the G Watch R. It just has a nicer casing and a different design. The Watch Urbane still has a Snapdragon 400 powering it, along with 4GB of storage space and 512MB of RAM. It has a 410 mAh battery and is IP67-certified dust and water resistant. It will come in gold and silver colors and is made of metal. It also has interchangeable watch bands, which is another thing that gets shown off in the promo video. The watch will be unveiled next week at MWC in Barcelona, Spain, but LG isn't making us wait to get all of the details about this slick new smartwatch. "The LG Watch Urbane's classic design and smart features make it the perfect smartwatch to complement our G Watch and G Watch R, which were designed as more casual and active devices," said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "LG Watch Urbane is an important part of our strategy to develop wearable devices that are worn and viewed as everyday accessories, not electronic gadgets."
We'll be bringing MWC to you live next week and we'll have hands-on shots with the Watch Urbane and all of the other awesome things that are going to be announced. The event officially kicks off next Monday, March 2. There are a bunch of announcements taking place Sunday, March 1, so we'll be bringing you all of it starting on Sunday.
