Android Wear Support Added To USA Today App So You Can Now View Top 5 News Stories On Your Smartwatch

On any given day over the best part of the last twelve months, there has been some android news in regards to wearables. Most notably, smartwatches. It seems these new found gadgets are extremely popular news topics. Not to mention, they also seem extremely popular with the manufacturers, with almost on a weekly basis, an announcement coming down the wire in regards to the next smartwatch. It was only at the start of this week, when it was reported that LG were now working on their next generation luxury smartwatch, the LG Watch Urbane.

Well, if you are already a smartwatch owner and not looking to upgrade any time soon then the news of new smartwatches might not be of any significance to your directly. That said, news of another app being ported over to the operating system underlying smartwatches (Android Wear) might be of interest to you. If that is the case, then today there is news of another app making its breakthrough into the smartwatch market.

USA Today has now updated their android app with full support for Android Wear. This means you can now get the latest goings-on sent straight to your Wear device which will be of use to many news addicts out there. There does seem to be one catch though, the app listing notes that only the top 5 stories will be available on Android Wear devices at any given time. According to the Play listing, the Wear function is updated twice daily, so presumably those stories will be updated twice a day. Other than the Wear support, the only other notable features include a new video playlist option (for the main app) and the obligatory bug and performance fixes. If you want to give the new Wear function a try and see what is making the news today then click the source link below to head over to the USA Today Play Listing. Already use the app and seen the update land? What do you think? Let us know.
