Xiaomi had lots to say at their press event in Beijing today. The company has announced two new handsets at that event, along with some new hardware. First thing's first, Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro got announced. Both of these handsets are a great addition to Xiaomi's lineup in my humble opinion, and are not that expensive either, considering what they have to offers. We've covered both of those launches separately, so you can check them out if you'd like. Additionally, Xiaomi has also announced the Mi Headphones and the Mi Box Mini, we've covered the launch of Mi Box, let's concentrate on the Mi Headphones, shall we.
The Mi Headphones are certainly an interesting accessory. They feature a semi-open design and have a 50mm large beryllium diaphragm speakers, which come with an interchangeable over-ear and on-ear covers. These headphones sport a super-low 32-ohm impedance, which is very nice. We still don't know when will these headphones go on sale, at least not at this very moment, but we do know that they'll cost 499 Yuan ($81) when Xiaomi makes them available. These headphones look really sweet on paper and you'd guess the price tag will be higher, but this is Xiaomi we're talking about here. Anyhow, I don't want to to say they're great, because I haven't had the chance to test them yet, let's wait until they're available to see if they're worth the cast Xiaomi is asking for them, and if they're as good in practice, as they're on paper.
If I had to guess, I'd say the headphones will be available on January 27, when Xiaomi intends to offer the Mi Note for sale in China. In case you live outside of Asia, chances are you'd have to get these headphones and devices through a reseller, Xiaomi intends to expand their business outside of Asia, but they're still not there and do not sell their products internationally at the moment. That being said, would you be interested in purchasing these headphones once they're available? Feel free to say something about the other products Xiaomi announced today as well.
