Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, has announced that the company will launch their new flagship on January 15, everyone immediately assumed that he was talking about the Mi4S / Mi5. This would make sense, of course, the Mi line is Xiaomi's flagship line, though the company has been increasingly teasing the Redmi Note 2 recently and the phone even got listed on Oppomart. We'll have to wait an extra couple of days in order to see what Xiaomi has up their sleeve, until then, there are some additional rumors, leaks and reports to attend to.
We've seen many alleged Mi5 design leaks lately, like the one which leaked yesterday. Today we have a couple of new images to share with you, all of them go hand-in-hand with the leaked design I mentioned. If you take a look at the gallery below this article, you'll notice a couple of images which seem to show the same device that was leaked yesterday. Actually, these images are from the same set of images it seems, but they show more angles of the phone itself. The last image in the gallery below shows off that device compared to the Mi4, well, kind off. You can't really see much in that image, but the curves at the bottom of the device in that image are kind of revealing. I really like this design and do hope that it's legit, it looked more like a concept render before, but the last image is actually kind of intriguing. Do you like this design?
Wonder how much will this thing cost? Well, according to the latest price report, this handset will cost 2,299 Yuan ($370), which is extremely affordable for such a handset. We expected the price to be rather affordable, this is Xiaomi after all, but if this price, design and leaked specs actually pan out in the end, I expect this device to sell like crazy. Talking about specs, previous rumors suggested that the phone will feature a 5.2-6" 1080p or QuadHD display along with 3 or 4GB of RAM and an IR blaster. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 or 810 processor is said to power on this thing and 13-megapixel OIS camera will allegedly be located at the back of this thing. 2.5D screen glass has been mentioned as well, and an 8-megapixel snapper will be available at the front of this device according to rumors.
