One of the big things we've all been complaining about with Samsung is their lack of a premium device. That and all of their phones look almost identical. But if all the rumors we've been seeing turn out to be true. We could be seeing a much higher quality premium handset coming from Samsung in the next month or two, that will be the Galaxy S6. We've got another report coming out of Korea today that is citing Robert Yi, who is the head of Samsung. He says that the company plans to release an "innovative premium handset" this year and it'll boast a "special function". Obviously he didn't give out details on that special function. But we did hear yesterday that Samsung was going to make cases with camera lenses on them. Which is a bit interesting.
So a "Innovative Premium Handset". We have heard that Samsung will be going with the Galaxy S Edge this year as well as the Galaxy S6. Which could just have one side of the device with a display or it could have two sides (both left and right) we've seen prototypes of both. Both models are rumored to be made of a full aluminum body. Which will be interesting from Samsung. I hope it's closer to the aluminum body that Huawei used on the Ascend Mate 7, which was not slippery at all compared to the very slippery HTC One M8.
We should know in the next month or so what Samsung has up their sleeve. We are expecting them to have an Unpacked event at Mobile World Congress on March 1st or 2nd. Hopefully Samsung will surprise us, with all these rumors we're hearing about the device, I'm starting to get very excited about it. Definitely can't wait to see what Samsung has in store for us.
