Report: Xiaomi Plans To Introduce A Trade-In Program For iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 And 6 Plus Users

Xiaomi is one of the fastest growing smartphone manufacturers in the world, if not the number 1 OEM on that list. This China-based company has enjoyed great success last year and they're looking to improve upon that this year. They've already announced a bunch of devices this year, and they year has barely started. Xiaomi really intends to leave its mark this year and they want you to know it. Other than the fact they intend to sell 100 million devices this year, the company wants to expand to other markets outside of Asia.

That being said, it looks like the "Apple of China" intends to introduce a trade-in program for Apple iPhone users. It seems like Xiaomi will allow people to trade their iPhone 5S device for a new Xiaomi Mi Note. On the other hand, they'll be able to trade the iPhone 6 / 6 Plus for the Mi Note Pro, well, at least according to this report, and by "report" I mean Lei Jun's post on Weibo. The report also says that users will be able to trade in their iPhone devices no matter their condition, though I guess they'll have to be functional in order for you to trade them in. This program will most likely be available in China only, and Xiaomi still hasn't revealed anything officially, though we can assume this is legit considering the fact this news is coming straight from Lei Jun.

This is an interesting approach by Xiaomi, they want to attract even more users their way by giving out new Mi Note handsets if you choose to trade-in your iPhone devices. We of course don't have all the details of this program at the moment, but it will be interesting to see how will all of this work in the end. The Mi Note phablets are very powerful devices and I really wonder how many iPhone users will be willing to exchange their Apple devices for one of Xiaomi's newest flagships. What are your thoughts here, do you think this is a good move by Xiaomi?
