Leaked Image Of Movie Creator App Update Shows Lollipop Navigation Keys On An Xperia Device

Earlier in the month we had learned that Sony would be pushing out the update for Android 5.0 Lollipop to the Xperia devices sometime in February, although there was no confirmation on exactly what the date next month would be. All we know at this point is that it will happen next month. We also know that Sony has spent a good time testing the software on the Xperia devices as they showed us some of the testing of stock lollipop on their devices last year in the Fall. Up until now we hadn't seen what Sony's Xperia UI would look like with the Lollipop software baked in , but an image has just apparently leaked that shows a screenshot of the movie creator app upon receiving an update, which also shows off the softkeys for Lollipop.

We realize this doesn't give much away other than the navigation keys, but it's a start and it could suggest that the software update to Lollipop for at least the Xperia Z3 devices is right around the corner. We can also see some of the Material Design style UI that Sony had baked into the movie creator app, and just for comparison we included a screenshot of the old movie creator app down at the bottom for anyone that has never used or seen an Xperia device.

Other than the app itself, and the navigation keys having Lollipop style, everything else seems to look relatively normal and more or less the same. The icons all at the top in the status bar are the same as they are currently on Android 4.4.4, so there's apparently no change to these in the slightest bit when Lollipop will hit Xperia phones. If you're running an Xperia Z3 or any other phone in the Xperia Z3 family, then like me you shouldn't have to wait too much longer now for the updates to the latest version of Android. Until then, have a look at the images below provided by Xperia Blog that show off Movie Creator with Material Design and the Lollipop navigation keys. At the very least it should get you all excited for things to come.
