Last year was really interesting for HTC, that's for sure. The company has been facing issues turning profit for a long time now, and they decided to apply some cutting costs techniques in order to change that last year. The company actually managed to do that, but everyone knows that HTC has to sell more phones in order to prevail and perhaps even strive. Their smartphones are really great, I believe most of you will agree with that. The One (M8), company's latest flagship, was one of the best (Android) smartphones in 2014, if not the best. But HTC is still not selling enough handsets. Well, the company decided to change things up, change up their approach, they'll pay more attention to emerging markets and hopefully HTC will be able to increase their profits.
Speaking of HTC's phones, one of them just leaked on Twitter, courtesy of @upleaks. The phone is named Desire 626 (codenamed A32) and the leaker released some images of the device and its alleged specifications. This smartphone will reportedly feature a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display and 16GB of in-built storage. The phone will come in two variants (different SoCs and RAM count), one model will be powered by MediaTek's MT6752 octa-core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz and ship with 2GB of RAM, while the other one will ship with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 SoC, a 64-bit quad-core processor and ship with 1GB of RAM. 13-megapixel camera will be located at the back of this handset below which you'll be able to find an LED flash, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be available up front. 2,000mAh battery will ship with this device according to this leak, and the device will come with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed but will be updated to Android Lollipop.
By the looks of it, this will be another mid-range offering by HTC. The phone looks good in the images, typical HTC design. Front-facing speaker(s) seem to be included and I hope that the company will find an appropriate price for this device (both variants), hopefully they won't go over the top here. It's a solid device as far as specs go as well, I expect more information will pop up soon, until then, tell us what you think of this device, would you be interested in purchasing it?
