You Can Now Buy The Google Nexus Player Through Amazon

The Google Nexus Player was the first commercial Android TV Unit that anyone could buy, and furthermore is still the only unit for purchase running the platform, although many more units plus actual TV's with Android TV built right in are scheduled for release later this year. Up until now the Nexus Player was only widely available from Google Play, and more recently we had seen it available from a few other select retailers, most commonly Best Buy. Today we learned that you can now also purchase the Nexus Player through Amazon, which we honestly thought would never happen as Amazon have been pushing hard to sell their Amazon Fire TV and Amazon Fire TV stick.

It seems though now the Nexus Player can be purchased through the massive online merchant website so anyone with an Amazon Prime account will be looking at a very fast delivery of these things if they choose to buy from Amazon. You of course don't need to be an Amazon Prime member just to buy one, but it certainly helps expedite the process of ordering and having it shipped out. Amazon is also now selling the Nexus Player gamepad that goes along with the unit if you want to play games with it, although it seems only so many are available through Amazon themselves with other units being offered at a higher price from other sellers yet fulfilled by  Amazon for shipping.

If you haven't yet picked one up and are considering it, you can buy the Nexus Player for normal cost as it's shipped from and sold by Amazon themselves, costing just $99.99. If you grab the gamepad while Amazon themselves actually have it listed, you'll only fork out the regular $39.99 the gamepad normally costs. However as we stated other merchants on Amazon are selling it for as much as $72. That's quite the price jump but we suppose that's the price you pay for supply and demand. It should also be noted that if you purchase a gamepad unit sold and shipped by Amazon, it will arrive within 21-27 business days, so you'll be waiting a while before you get it, and we imagine the other sellers have them immediately available and ready to ship.
