Sol Invictus Is A Gamebook Successor To Heavy Metal Thunder
Popular gamebook Heavy Metal Thunder is getting a sequel called Sol Invictus, and it’ll be getting a release this week onto Google Play. The launch is scheduled for January 8th, near the end of all the madness that takes place this week at CES. Sol Invictus has players fighting the battle to save humanity from outer space, and features a full soundtrack, new artwork, skill and character customization, inventory and weapon management, and you can even play in up to three stories at once. The First game in the series is $0.99, so Sol Invictus could come in close to that pricing but there’s nothing official yet and we’re just guessing. If you enjoy gamebooks, check this one out come the 8th.

It’ll be your job to shoot down enemy planes and protect cities and fleets while also bombing enemy structures. It sounds like there will be plenty of different planes to collect and use, and in addition to the regular campaign/single player mode there is a handful of online modes pitting you against other real life players, which can be played over WiFi or 3G/4G data. The game is only $0.99, which sounds like a steal to us.
