Alleged Mate 8 Images Leak, Is This Huawei's Upcoming Phablet?

Huawei did great in 2014, the company managed to increase its market share and profits. They deserved it, this China-based company really stepped up last year and has released a couple of really compelling offerings. Huawei Ascend P7, Ascend Mate 7, Honor 6 and Honor 6 Plus are all really great smartphones. Ascend Mate 7 really caught my attention when it was announced last year, same goes for the Honor 6 Plus which brings really high-end specs and is really affordable despite that. That being said, we have a new leak to share with you which regards to this OEM, well, their handset rather.

Four new images appeared in China, they allegedly show off the upcoming Mate 8. You might notice I lost the "Ascend" naming, that's because Huawei will ditch that branding rather soon, they already removed it from certain press releases and other company documents. Anyhow, this phone does resemble the Mate 7, and it might even be legit. The phone will once again sport the aluminum build it seems, which makes it look really sleek and elegant. Screen-to-body will be one of the main selling points of this device, despite the huge display, this could be somewhat convenient to handle thanks to the minimal bezels on the handset. The screen seems ever so slightly curved on the edges, something similar to the Nexus 4 if you recall.

This phone will quite possibly retain the fingerprint scanner and might even be powered by the upcoming Kirin 950 SoC, though that depends on when Huawei will launch this thing, because Kirin 930 is also an option here. Anyhow, the phone is expected to sport a 6-inch display and feature 4GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs. Reports are saying that the device might launch at MWC in Barcelona in March, but I somehow doubt that. The Mate 7 was announced in September 2014, so I doubt Huawei will jump the gun here and actually announce this thing in March, the P8 is a possibility though. Anyhow, make sure to check out the images in the gallery down below and tell us what you think, do you the images are legit or not?
