Acoustic Research Announces New Charging Options and Bluetooth Speakers

Acoustic Research has announced some new speakers and a few new charging options at CES 2015. Two battery packs, a wall charger that adds USB charging to your existing outlets. The Bluetooth speakers include an outdoor speaker, two indoor-outdoor speakers, and another speaker designed for indoor use. CES is the time of year that we get new gadgets. Acoustic Research brought a bunch.

The PowerCompact is a battery pack that looks like a woman's make up compact. It even has a mirror inside the lid. It charges via USB cable and should give you a full day's charge when you need it. It comes in either black or gold, both with a metallic finish. The PowerCompact is $29.99, but Acoustic Research doesn't mention how big the battery is. Same thing with the next battery pack, the VitaCharge. The VitaCharge says it will give you "more than five hours of extra battery life" but there's no mention of how big the battery is. This one comes in four different colors and will cost $24.99. The last charging accessory is the USB Wall Plate Charger that turns any standard outlet into and adds two USB charging ports. You can still use the outlet like normal, and now you have two USB charging ports that put out 2.4 amps each. The USB Wall Plate Charger will be available in the spring for $29.99.

The four new Blueooth speakers include the Hatteras, the Glendale, the Pasadena, and the Orleans. The Hatteras is a high-powered speaker designed for outdoor use. The Hatteras has a "beautiful design was inspired by America's lighthouses as an inspiration of timelessness, stability, functionality and power." It stands 2-feet tall, is weather and UV resistant, and kicks out 40 watts of powerful sound. It will set you back $219.99. The Glendale is a 10-watt speaker that can run on AA batteries, the Pasadena runs on a rechargeable battery instead. The Glendale sells for $119.99 and the Pasadena for $99.99. Finally, the Orleans is a limited-series speaker for $99.99 can run on AA batteries if you want it to. You can find the official press releases for the charging accessories here and for the speakers here.
