ZTE Grand X Plus Available Now at Fido

It is no secret that ZTE has been trying to sell more smartphones in North America - especially in the U.S. However, there is a lot of tension with ZTE/China Government and the U.S. Government, so they decided to work their way into Canada and there they opened up a Research and Development center in Ottawa. It looks like the new ZTE Grand X Plus is the "first handset designed in Canada," and it is even stamped on the back of the phone (see the close-up below). Denson Xu, CEO of ZTE Canada said, "The Grand X Plus represents a big achievement for ZTE, our first smartphone designed by Canadians for Canadians. We're very proud of its performance and exceptional value. Customers can enjoy all the benefits of a high-end smartphone at a fraction of the price." The ZTE Grand X Plus has gone directly to Fido. You can get one for as little as $0 with a two-year Tab24 agreement on a Smart plan all the way up to $200 with no agreement or as a prepaid service.

The Grand X Plus comes with a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is using a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded an additional 32GB of internal memory via a microSD card. The Grand X Plus has an 8MP main camera and a 2MP front-facing camera (FFC). Power for the smartphone is provided by a 2300mAh battery running Android 4.4 KitKat. It has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, MicroUSB 2.0, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSPA 950/1900/2100 and LTE Bands 700/1700/2600 MHz up to 100Mbps. It measures 144.6 x 73.9 x 9.6 mm and weighs in at 150 grams.

The ZTE Grand X was an exclusive phone on Bell Mobility, but the new Grand X Plus is going exclusively to Fido. The 5-inch display with 720p stayed the same, but the soft keys under the display are gone in favor of on-screen buttons. ZTE also upped the Android from 4.3 Jelly Bean to 4.4 KitKat, the main camera jumped from 5MP to 8MP and they include LTE support for up to 100Mbps.

Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you own a ZTE smartphone or will be reaching out to Fido and picking up the new ZTE Grand X Plus... as always, we would love to hear from you.
