I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again, Xiaomi is one of the fastest growing smartphone manufacturers in the world. This China-based company is well-known for their quality-built, affordable devices, even the high-end ones like the Xiaomi Mi4. We've seen a ton of leaks when it comes to Xiaomi's upcoming smartphones, alleged successors of the Mi4, Redmi and Redmi Note devices have been leaking like crazy in the last couple of weeks. This time around we have something different to share with you, really, really different.
Samsung Galaxy Note Edge surprised many people when this Korean tech behemoth released it back in September. This device's curved "Edge" display has its own set of functionality and some people consider it really useful, though other think it's a gimmick. No matter what you think, the Note Edge is a rather interesting handset and we'll see if Samsung manages to turn it into a new line of smartphones and sell enough of them to make it a success. We're not here to talk about the Note Edge though, nor Samsung, we're here to talk about the newest Xiaomi leak that came our way, allegedly called Xiaomi "Arch". If you take a look at the image below this article, you'll notice a device which comes with a curved screen display as well, though this device sports curves on both sides of the display unlike the Note Edge. It is quite obvious that this is a concept image at this point and we have no way of confirming if this is real or not. If this concept actually turns into a smartphone sometime soon, this will be the first smartphone in the world which has both sides of the display curved in such manner.
First and foremost, opinions may differ on this one, but I really don't believe this is realistic. As I already said, this company makes quality-built, affordable handsets and I don't believe this device would fit into that category. The "Arch" simply seems like something that would cost a lot and quite frankly this render really doesn't seem all that realistic. The design of the smartphone is odd and… well, it just doesn't seem something Xiaomi would push to the market, but who knows, perhaps they surprise us sometime in the future.
