Since November, it has certainly been Lollipop Season. The newest addition to the android family, Android 5.0 (Lollipop) is alive and kicking. Although the month since its launch has seemed rather slow with everyone waiting for their respective update to land. In truth, there has been a flurry of activity. We have seen a number of updates reaching devices both official and unofficial. There is no doubt about it that Google is leading the way in making sure their respective Nexus devices are getting their Lollipop fix. Including a second incremental update which landed late last night. Besides Google though, Motorola has also been quick of the mark in making sure some of their devices are getting Lollipop quickly.
However, a lot of eyes have been firmly on Samsung to see how long they would take to roll out Lollipop. After all, Samsung are the largest (by numbers) android manufacturer and as such you would expect a speedy response. Especially when Motorola and LG are right up there at the moment and well in the Lollipop race. As of late, we were not hearing very much from Samsung officially in this respect. That said, recently we have seen a large number of leaked images and videos landing, of Samsung devices running Lollipop. This should have been a good warning as what was to come. The latest reports (within the last few minutes) is that Lollipop has began rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S5. Yes, the first flagship device of this year seems to be getting the official lollipop pushed out as we speak.
Now, the reports are extremely early and as such there is not a whole lot to report on. What we do know as of now, is that it seems to be the Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) getting the update. What's more, at the moment the roll-out seems to have started in Poland. There are no further countries noted as yet, but it is safe to assume other European countries will follow in due course. As the information comes in, we will keep you updated and let you know. Get Ready S5's, Lollipop is coming.
