The Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5 are an interesting addition to the Samsung line-up. They were officially unveiled back at the end of October although their existence had been known for sometime, thanks to the number of rumors leaking before release. They are not exactly the best Samsung phones on the market and there already have been some issues being noted with the quality. That said though they do mark a milestone in Samsung’s history. They are Samsung’s first proper all-metal range.
At launch, it was reported that the A3 and A5 (A7 is still not officially unveiled) would launch in China and other select markets. Since then, the A5 has indeed gone live in China and the A3 is expected to land there any time now. However, there has been little news on the other select markets and regions. Well, some news at least is emerging in terms of Europe. It seems Netherlands Retailer GSMWijzer is expecting both devices to land sometime in January 2015. This revelation seems to be alluding to maybe a first quarter release in wider Europe for the A range devices. Now it does need to be made clear that at the moment there is no official confirmation of any of these details and as such, the information should not be taken as definitive. As we have learned from the slow emerging Samsung Galaxy A7, delays are not only possible but likely with these devices.
If you are in Europe though and interesting in picking up one of the all-metal devices. Then it is worth noting that the reported price is €310 for the A3 and €410 for the A5. If you need a quick reminder then the A3 comes with a 4.5″ display (960 x 540 resolution). Inside the A3 comes with 1GB RAM, 16GB Internal storage and powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. Additional features include an 8MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter and a 1900mAh battery. In contrast the A5 comes with a 5″ display with an increased 1280 x 720 resolution. Inside, the A5 comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and the same processor as the A3. Cameras on the A5 will be a 13MP rear shooter and 5MP front shooter. Are you Europe based? Will you be picking up one of the Galaxy A devices at the price suggested?
