Micromax, one of Google's Android One launch partners, is an Indian smartphone manufacturer which is actually rather well-known in Asia. The company actually holds a rather piece of the marketshare pie in India, according to IDC. Micromax has announced a bunch of smartphones and tablets in India in the last couple of month and has even signed an agreement with Cyanogen, a partnership of sorts, which is extremely interesting in a way, but we're not here to talk about that.
Micromax has just announced yet another smartphone for the Indian market, Canvas Xpress which features a 4.5-inch 854 x 480 IPS display along with 1GB of RAM and you can expand this handset's internal storage via MicroSD card up to 32GB, though the source didn't mention the actual size of its internal storage, we're quite probably looking at 8GB though. This handset is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz (probably a MediaTek chip) nad it ships with a 1950mAh battery. Canvas Express comes pre-installed with Android 4.4 KitKat and this is a Dual-SIM device. As far as cameras go, on the back of this handset, you'll find a 5-megapixel snapper flanked by an LED flash, while there's a 0.3-megapixel shooter up front. FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS are all here, of course. As far as network connectivity goes, Canvas Xpress comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support and this is also a 3G HSPA+ handset, no 4G LTE connectivity here.
"At Micromax, we have always believed in opting for smart partnerships building on our innovative products and belief to make technology accessible to all. Our partnership with Flipkart to launch the Canvas Xpress exclusively reinforces our commitment to simplify the process for millions of users who prefer to shop online and get the device with just a few clicks.
