Back on December 19th we saw some leaked images appear of what were rumored to be the upcoming Galaxy S6, displaying an all metal aluminum frame and body which would be something of a new direction for Samsung as they haven't yet produced a handset with all metal body before. The recently released Galaxy Alpha which launched in the Fall of 2014 does have an aluminum frame, but other parts of the body are made up of plastic and non-metals like we have seen on all past Samsung devices. Not only do these new leaked images only attempt to reinforce the all metal body rumor for the Samsung Galaxy S6, but they also appear to show that Samsung is designing the device with a varied color pallet too.
It's interesting to think about Samsung experimenting with color on the metal body, suggesting that Samsung is trying some more new tactics in the design department with their upcoming flagship. The leaked images also appear to show the device fully assembled in complete form, albeit not powered on but rather just the device has been put together. While we don't have any confirmation yet on whether or not these images are indeed of the Galaxy S6, it's a nice thought to imagine Samsung trying their hand at an all metal phone. One of the weirdest rumors to date about the device(at least to us)states that the Galaxy S6 will potentially come with a 5.5-inch display which puts it quite close to the screen size of the Galaxy Note 4 and more or less in the phablet range of device sizes but without the Note's signature S-Pen.
Other rumored specs include a snapdragon 801 chip which we don't find likely since the Galaxy S5 already carries that processor from Qualcomm. What we'd wager is that Samsung would probably use a more recent Snapdragon 805 like what's found running in the Galaxy Note 4 although that is simply speculation. The leaks refer to the Galaxy S6 as model number SM-G430, which is listed on the image of the import/export listing as having a 5.5-inch display, so it's possible the rumor on the screen size could be correct, however take with a grain of salt at this point until we see something more concrete. You can also see the images below that were leaked last week, showing what was rumored to be the metal body of the Galaxy S6 before assembly. What do you make of the new leaked images? Could this be the Galaxy S6?
