Huawei has released a bunch of really compelling devices this year and made great progress in my humble opinion. They changed their design approach as far as both their hardware and software goes, because Huawei's Emotion UI is also a rather pleasant UI to use. Huawei Ascend Mate 7 and Ascend P7 were probably the most popular handsets this Chinese smartphone OEM has produced this year, for a reason. The Mate 7 is a great premium-built tablet which has a ton of useful features and looks great, while the Ascend P7 is one of those smartphone that you didn't expect will impress you, it's an extremely solid piece of hardware and one of the thinnest smartphones of the year. Huawei has even released a sapphire version of the P7 a couple of months back.
That being said, I do expect this Chinese OEM to impress us yet again in 2015 and offer some compelling devices, especially after their device roadmap leaked a while back. Huawei Ascend P8 could be one of the devices we're eager to see launched, and the Chinese portal CNMO just gave us some info about the handset itself. According to this website, the Ascend P8 will launch in March 2015, which means it will launch only 10 months after the P7. The source also claims that this handset will be larger than its predecessor, it will allegedly come sporting a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, compared to the 5-inch display on the Ascend P7. Huawei's very own Kirin 930 octa-core processor will reportedly power on this thing and 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage will also ship with the device. Fingerprint scanner will also be a part of this package according to this report. The alleged chassis of this handset has also surfaced, you can check it in the gallery below this article.
Ascend P8 could be a really interesting device in the end and is expected to cost a bit less than $500, which would make it really appealing to those of you who are looking to get a flagship which is great, but costs less than some other flagship handsets. Let's see what Huawei has to offer in 2015, Ascend Mate 7 and the rumored D8 handsets could be interesting as well, Huawei certainly means business this time around.
