Are you shopped out having spent most of your money on buying holiday gifts for friends, family and loved one? Do you regret missing out on some of the better Black Friday offers? If you've answered yes to both of these questions and you fancy picking up a new HTC smartphone, then your luck might be in because HTC are offering a US "Hot Deal" through the website. They're offering a 20% discount on the price of their unlocked devices between now and 2100 hours PST on January 2, 2015. To take advantage of the deal, customers first pick their handset and then enter the code "HTCHOLIDAY20" at the checkout. The limit is one per customer but you'll save between $60 to $125 depending on the device. And whilst some of these devices are likely to be superseded in the new year, this won't diminish how great they are full stop. I also expect all of these devices to benefit from Android 5.0 Lollipop, starting with the One M8 in January, and HTC Sense 7 later in the year.
There are seven devices available in the office, six are Android powered and one runs Windows Phone. Of the Android devices, both the ordinary HTC One M8 and the Harman/Kardon versions are available, both at the same price of $649 before the discount. HTC's "budget" M8 variant, the plastic-bodied HTC One E8, is also available at $499 before the discount. These three handsets are based around the 2.3 GHz, quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and a 5.0-inch, 1080p display. The HTC One Remix is also included in the deal, at $449, which is based around a 4.5-inch, 720p display and the 1.2 GHz, quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor), the HTC Desire Eye, which offers a 5.2-inch, 1080p screen, the same processor and chipset as the One M8 models, but 13 MP front and rear cameras, for $549. The lowest model in the officer is the $299 HTC Desire 610, which is based around the same 1.2 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor as we find in the HTC One Remix but has a slightly larger but lower resolution display.
Are you interested in saving 20% off an unlocked HTC device? If so, what model are you most interested in? I bought the One M8 shortly after launch and if I had to do it again... actually I don't know what I would pick, but I'm intrigued by the Desire Eye. Let us know in the comments below.
