By now you've probably seen our posts from today and yesterday about the recent updates coming to a few Google apps that some of us may or may not use in our daily professional office settings. We're talking about Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and of course the app that ties them all together, Google Drive. All of these apps for the web based interface as well as the Android platform have gotten some changes and additions in the latest update tweak, and if you have never been a patient person and would love to have access to them right away we have the apk download for you. First though, what changed?
To recap from today's article, Google Drive received an update that made it more open, allowing users to import files that run off of the open document format platform. That means you can now import .odt, .ods, and .odp files into Google Drive, and from there can share them with others online and collaborate on those files just like you could with any other file created in or imported to Drive. Normally use an office suite like Open Office but want the ease of use and cloud connected capabilities of Google Drive? No problem, you can create all your stuff in Open Office and then simply import the files.
Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides got some updates yesterday as we stated above, which brought along the ability for people to use a few new line spacing options within Docs like single, double, or fractional line spacing. In Sheets, users now should have the ability to scroll even easier thanks to the scrollbar at the side of every spreadsheet, and within Slides users now have access to some new tools which allow users to insert, move, resize and rotate text boxes, shapes and lines. All of these changes are available in the latest update to these apps. We have the apk files for you here at this link, so there's no need for you to wait for the updates to come to your device through the Play Store.
