When you think of "Transportation" you are probably thinking of subways, buses, etc., right? Well there are also Taxi's and now "Ubers". There are a ton of great transportation apps available out there, but which ones made the shortlist for Best Transportation app of the year, and which one got the award? Well we'll have to read on to find out.
Winner - Uber
How could Uber not win? Sure Uber has had some issues in the past few weeks. But we're going to overlook that for now, because not every company is perfect. But Uber has a great product and a great app. From the app, you are able to go ahead and have a car come pick you up. You can also put in your destination while you're waiting and when you're done, you pay through the app. So you don't have to really talk to the driver, or hand over any money. And most times you get a pretty nice looking car to pick you up, not to mention a couple of bottles of water in the back for you. While yes, Uber has made some bad mistakes lately, it's still a great app.
Runner Up - Transit
Transit is an amazing app. What it does is gives you the times that buses and trains will be at a certain place as well as how to get from point A to point B. But it doesn't do this in just one city or state. This is nationwide in the US and works in a few cities in Europe. During the busy fall travel season, I used Transit to navigate my way in New York City from the airport to the hotel to the venue for the many events I attended in the past few months. It is an amazing app and works flawlessly, as long as you have service, obviously.
