AH Awards 2014: Best Launcher App Of The Year

We all like a little customization now and again and that's one of the best things about Android. Seemingly endless possibilities for tweaking, personalizing, customizing and styling your device in a multitude of different ways tailored to your liking. A lot of this is helped along by third party Android home launcher applications, and here we've got our pick for the best launcher app of 2014 along with the runner up and honorable mention.

Runner Up - Solo Launcher

Solo launcher prides itself on being fast and lightweight, and that's just what you'll get if you use this as your third party launcher for your homescreen. The app is highly customizable with over 300 customization settings, and you also have unread counts, 9 different gestures, and a customizable tool bar. Solo Launcher is free and you can check it out at the download link in the Play Store.

Winner - Nova Launcher Prime

Nova Prime continues to be one of if not the most popular launcher app on the Play Store, and with good reason, which is why we gave it the win for this year's awards. This might be the most highly customizable launcher out there, with gesture actions, icon pack support, UI customizations, customizable homescreen docks, the infinite scroll option, a backup and restore option for your homescreen and much more. You swipe up or down on icons to launch certain actions or shortcuts, and there's tons of different scroll effects and animations for scrolling through your homescreen pages and your app drawer pages. It's fast and smooth, and you can even tweak whether you'd like the launcher to act with better performance or with more speed. Keeping in mind that leaning more towards one or the other will slightly lessen the other. This is AOSP android at its best. You can check it out at the download link in the Play Store.

Honorable Mention - Google Now Launcher
