We've covered an interesting handset from Vivo recently. Vivo X5 Max paid a visit to TENAA (China's equivalent of the FCC) a couple of days ago and according to the listing that handset will be even thinner than Oppo R5, which is currently the thinnest phone in the world. Oppo R5 measures 4.85mm while Vivo X5 Max will, according to TENAA, be only 4.75mm thick. Another rather interesting handset surfaced, this time the information comes straight from Vivo's Chinese forum. Keep in mind that Vivo has a history of tricking its consumers when it comes to leaking renders.
Vivo Xplay 5S renders surfaced at Vivo's Chinese forum showing of a white coloured handset. As I already mentioned, Vivo has a rather shady history when it comes to leaking images. The company tricked its consumers a couple of times before, so keep that in mind. That being said, you can find a couple of alleged Vivo 5S images in the gallery below this article. If you take a look at the first image you'll see the device on top of the MacBook Air and it seems the phone is extremely thin. The second image shows the handset from the front and it look really unrealistic. The majority of the phone is covered with glass and the phone looks way too thin and just... well, not real. The third image listed down below leaked earlier and shows the device's back side, there's a fingerprint scanner located below the camera, similar to the Vivo Xplay 3S model. You may notice the device in the 2nd images looks nothing like the one shown in the 3rd image. The corners of those handsets look completely different.
If I had to guess, I'd say that all of these images are fake and that Vivo is once again trying to trick its consumers. According to previous leaks, Vivo Xplay 5S will feature a 6-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card up to 128GB). The handset will allegedly be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.7GHz and will ship with an 8-megapixel shooter (I actually believe Vivo will include a much larger sensor actually, considering the 13-megapixel one was included in its predecessor) on the back while a 1.3-megapixel camera will reportedly be located on the front of the device. Android 4.4 is expected to ship with this device with Vivo's skin on top of it. This will be a dual-SIM handset and will sport 4G LTE connectivity. 3500mAh battery was also mentioned in a previous leak.
Vivo Xplay 3S is quite a beastly device and these specifications, for the most part, look rather realistic when it comes to its successor. Either way, Vivo is expected to launch this handset in December, stay tuned.
