Gamers are likely clamoring over the release of Far Cry 4 from Ubisoft, a game that has hit PS4 and Xbox One consoles as well as PC this week, offering up a massive first person shooter experience that promises to be one of the best games of the year. Like many or most game released in the last year since the launch of both next gen consoles, Far Cry 4 comes with a companion app of sorts, allowing gamers to take their gaming experience to the next level with the downloaded app. Although Far Cry 4 Arena Master does have some tie ins to the original full game and some things will attribute to the gameplay, Arena Master is a full game and standalone app itself too.

The basis of the game is collecting animals and mercenary fighters for your own personal arena, and then making them battle it out against other Far Cry 4 players. Winning battles in the arena gains you fame through raising your ranking, while also winning fortune with collection of in game currency. You can send you mercenaries on quests to capture animals for the arena with the “hunt” option, with the possibility of coming back prize in hand, or perhaps not coming back at all as each quest has a chance of ending in tragedy. Arena Master follows the path of a few other companion apps like the one for Watch Dogs, as well as the Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes companion app, which both let you play the games without having to purchase the actual game for console or PC and sync it up.

You can send your animals and mercenaries into battle against other players or you can play Arena Master solo, fighting it out against AI champions to get the hang of things before you set out to take on other real world players. As you complete quests and battles and gain more cash, you can unlock cages and buy mercenaries and animals for use on quests out in the world map or in battles in the arena. For those that do or will own Far Cry 4, there are some perks for having the app and expanding the experience of the game with the Arena Master app, like upping your ranking in the actual game as well as earning in game cash for Far Cry 4. Arena Master is free, and it isn’t a bad way to get your little fix of Far Cry 4 while away from the house.
