The Square Register app on Android has gotten a global rollout today, adding support for more than 130 countries, making it possible for merchants around the world to use Square’s online connected mobile payment point of sale system to do business and accept payments from customers. Rolling out the app and service globally is not the only thing that Square has brought to the table. In addition to a now much wider availability, Square resister is now also optimized for Android tablets for the very first time, giving Android users even more of a reason to switch to Square’s POS system.
Square Register gives merchants worldwide a way to manage and track payments, and manage items and inventory all in the cloud. Now that Square Register expands past the U.S., Canada, and Japan markets with new Android tablet optimization, we should see more and more merchants begin to pick up the Square platform for managing point of sale. For those that have never used or interacted with Square before, with Square sellers can view analytics from the dashboard in real-time, and from anywhere. Square also uses digital receipts, sent through email which gives sellers a way to interact with their customers and provide feedback should any issues arise.
Using the Square system makes it easy to get rid of the overweight old style registers that are not only outdated but take up more space. With Square’s expansion, merchants worldwide now have a more convenient way to do business and sales, and with wider adoption sellers can use less paper receipts which means less paper used altogether. It may not have been their intention or part of their vision when creating such a unique and useful app and service, but Square makes it possible to have a more eco-friendly business as well as one that’s rather efficient. CEO of Square Jack Dorsey states that “The cash register was invented to solve the basic pain points of running a business, like recording sales. Our Register empowers sellers to drill into their business with sophisticated reporting tools to run and grow their business.” Square is now equipped more than ever to provide merchants the tools they need to make their business grow, so if you’re a business owner and haven’t already done so, it might be time to check out the Square Register app.
