Sony Hands Over Six Free Movies To People Who Buy An Xperia Z3 Family Device

Everyone loves movies. OK, that's a bit of an exaggeration, some people hate movies. Pay them no mind, because movies are awesome. Sony thinks so too, and they know you might love movies just as much as they do and that's why they've been giving away movies for free to anyone who purchases a device from the Xperia Z3 line up. That means owners of the Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact are all eligible for the stash of films. You're probably thinking, "that's great and all, but what movies do I get?" There are six movies Sony is giving out for free right now to owners of the above listed devices. The better news, you get to keep them for life, and you can even watch them on devices like your PS4. Neat right?

The included movies are Ghostbusters, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Captain Phillips, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2, Money Ball, and 22 Jump Street. All of those are decent and even if you don't watch them all it's a nice little perk for anyone that was already considering buying one of these devices. We wouldn't consider it a selling point of you were on the fence, but we don't scoff at the freebies either. I noticed these movies pop up on my Xperia Z3 earlier this week and thought it was a pretty cool promotion, and it definitely benefits anyone who has multiple Sony products that they can watch these films on. The offers were first presented on the T-Mobile version of the Xperia Z3 that I had reviewed earlier last week, but I thought nothing of it at the time and left it alone. After switching from my old Nexus 4 to the unlocked U.S. model Xperia Z3 a couple of days ago, the offer was presented again in the "Movies" app, so I'm unsure if it only popped up for me because it had already been offered prior on a T-mobile device, or it was something offered to unlocked devices as well.

With that being said, it's also possible that because I use T-Mobile as a carrier, that is why I'm seeing the offer. Xperia Blog actually reports that Verizon customers in the U.S. are getting the movies for free too, however they state that only three movies are coming as free, yet I personally was offered the six total that I mentioned above. This could be a limited thing for some users with others only receiving three movies total, but we don't really have a way to test that, so if any readers out there can verify that they have unlocked models or carrier models of any Z3 devices here in the U.S. which have gotten free film offer, let us know in the comments.
