Having spent the last week or so with the Sony Xperia Z3, I can attest to the wonderful long lasting battery life that Sony has been boasting about for its latest flagship device. I talk about the battery life in the review which you can check out here. It truly lasts longer than any other smartphone I have used thus far and certainly longer than any smartphone I have personally owned. Part of this is due to the battery on the Xperia Z3, which comes in with a 3100mAh battery capacity, which Sony touts a 2 day battery life from before you need to plug it back in. While the experience in this wasn't quite two days for myself, it was very close and I Probably could have stretched it to meet that time frame if I wanted to.
With that being said, the battery life on the Xperia Z3 is likely insane when you pair it with Mugen Power's new battery case. The case itself has an embedded 3700mAh battery, which connects into the Xperia Z3's charging port when you put it on, and extends the battery life by more than double what it originally has internally. While I haven't had the pleasure of testing this out on my own Xperia Z3 just yet, GSMarena has apparently conducted a battery endurance test with this case and come up with the finding that it doubles the usage time. That probably seems like a no brainer, but personally I'm surprised that it wasn't a little longer as the extended battery case has more capacity than the phone itself.
Nevertheless, if you're in the market for a case and you're a heavy user of your Xperia Z3, check out what Mugen Power has to offer. According to the test, the case was able to extend the battery time to about 46 hours of talk time up from 23 hours, and about 24 hours of web browsing or 24 hours of video playback up from 12 hours without the case on the phone. The case is also built with a nice protective grippy coating on the outside to prevent from drops, which is always a good thing especially on a slippery, beautiful phone like the Xperia Z3. The Mugen Power Extended battery case for the Sony Xperia Z3 will set you back about $89.99, but that sounds worth it for the extra battery life you get out of it.
