Earlier this week, AT&T Announced that the LG G Watch R was coming to their stores this week. They actually pulled the trigger a bit early as it was supposed to launch tomorrow, but it’s available now online and should be in store tomorrow. The LG G Watch R is a great looking watch that works great as well. It’s LG’s first attempt at a round face – probably after all the hype that Motorola’s Moto 360 had gotten. And they did a fine good job with it. I’ve been using one for a little over a week now and it pretty much overshadows the Moto 360 in every aspect, except maybe design. The battery life on the LG G Watch R is pretty amazing too. I was often able to get about 30 hours off the charger with the LG G Watch R and that was with Ambient mode on. Which is pretty amazing, if you ask me. If you turn it off, you could probably easily get to 48 hours or more.
While the LG G Watch R is not cheap, and it’s not overly expensive. It’s important to remember that smartwatches aren’t going to be getting replaced every year like a smartphone would. I don’t see the hardware changing all that much on these smartwatches in the next year or so. So $299 for a nice looking smartwatch like the LG G Watch R, will last you a few years. And with the interchangeable bands, it makes it an even better buy, in my opinion. It’s going to be really interesting to see how well the LG G Watch R sells compared to the Moto 360.
