Karbonn's KitKat Powered Trio of Quad-Core Phones Go on Sale in India

Another three phones just went on sale in the ever expanding budget market in India. As you would expect, these phones come from a domestic OEM -- Karbonn -- and feature the acclaimed MediaTek MT6582 processor. The devices are: Karbonn Titanium S4 Plus, Titaniun S6 and Titanium S8. While all the three phones are aimed at the budget phone seeker, the Titanium S4 Plus remains the most affordable at only 3,999 INR or US$65. With the e-commerce model booming in the country, the devices have been made available on the online platform first.

The Titanium S4 Plus comes with a 4-inch 854 x 480 pixel FWVGA display, the smallest of them all in terms of size. Yet, it rocks a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC like the other two that share the launch stage with this affordable phone. It has a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera along with a a teeny 1500mAh battery. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage, of course with a microSD slot of expansion. As mentioned in the title of the story, the S4 Plus runs Android KitKat.

The Titanium S6 features a 5-inch display with a qHD resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. It again has a gig of RAM, and 8GB of on-board storage, up from the paltry 4GB of the S4 Plus. It has an 8 MP rear shooter along with a 2 MP front facing camera for video chat and the likes. A 2,000mAh battery powers the device, with Android KitKat running the show on the software front.

Lastly, the Titanium S8: this device has a 5-inch 854 x 480 pixel display, and kind of sits between the other two at least as far as the display is concerned. It has the same 1.3GHz quad-core CPU and 1GB RAM like the other two, but features a smaller battery than the S6 with only an 1800mAh unit. Imaging on the device is handled by a 8 MP rear shooter that works in conjunction with a VGA front facer.

The Karbonn Titanium S6, Titanium S8 and the S4 Plus are priced at 7,800 INR (US$125), 6,147 INR (US$105) and 3,999 INR (US$65) respectively.
