The wait for the official T-Mobile version of the Sony Xperia Z3 is finally over, as Big Magenta has finally launched the device onto their network. The phone was announced back in the beginning of September at IFA 2014 in Berlin, and was stated by Sony as getting a launch in the U.S. which marks the first official time that any Sony high end flagship has made it to U.S. shores on a carrier shortly after the launch time frame of the device. Technically, Sony also launched the phone on the Verizon Wireless network recently as the Xperia Z3v, but that's more like the Sony Xperia Z2 for Verizon that we saw leaks of earlier this year with some slightly updated specs.
The Sony Xperia Z3 has also been available in an unlocked GSM version via the Sony website for a little while now, and you can also grab that model on Amazon. The T-Mobile version launches today in Black,(sadly there are no other colors available from T-Mobile at the moment)and can be picked up for $0 down and just $26.25 a month over 24 months on top of your monthly wireless bill for well-qualified buyers. The retail cost on this device from T-Mobile is $630, although you can grab the unlocked GSM model for $599 through ebay deals usually so if you want to save a few bucks we thought that was some good food for thought.
The Sony Xperia Z3 features Sony's highest ever waterproof rating of IP68, making it capable of being submerged in 1 meter of water for up to thirty minutes. It also features a 20.7MP rear facing camera with 4K video recording capabilities, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU for the graphics. It has also been hailed by many as having the best battery life of any competing device, although that may change with the recently announced Motorola DROID Turbo that is set to launch on Verizon tomorrow. With the Sony Xperia Z3 you'll also be getting 32GB of internal storage with expandable storage up to 128GB via the microSD card slot, as well as 3GB of RAM. If you're on T-Mobile and were considering the Sony Xperia Z3 as your next device, check out the T-Mobile website at the source link below or head into your local store, or grab the unlocked GSM model on Amazon for a little less than the retail cost at T-Mobile, only by a few bucks though it seems.
