Samsung's Gear S Smart Watch is Available To Pre-Order From Two More UK Retailers From October 24

It was just the other day that we ran an article detailing how it was possible to pre-order Samsung's Gear S smart watch (smart-watch-phone?) from Unlocked Mobiles for £334 ($538).And now it's becoming available to pre-order from a couple of other UK online retailers as well.

Clove Technology expect the first stock of the black Gear S to arrive on October 24th with a pre-order price of £340 ($545). Price and availability of the Black version is yet to be confirmed, although it shouldn't differ too much in price from its white sibling. The other UK retailer to have the Gear S up for pre-order is MobileFun, who have the 3g capable smart watch up for pre-order for £329.99 ($530). Both the black and white versions are available to pre-order, with stock expected in 2-3 weeks, probably around October 24th as well to be honest.

So the Gear S can access 2G and 3G networks without needing to lean on a smart phone, you can pair it with a Bluetooth headset and makes calls without the need for a smart phone! It also has a heart rate monitor that makes it pretty handy for keeping track of things like jogging and other sporting activities that get your heart racing. There's no need to get lost because it is compatible with both A-GPS and GLONASS satellite navigation systems. And being IP67 certified means it's also dust- and water-resistant.

The more obvious feature is the slightly curved 2-inch Super-AMOLED display that runs with a 360 x 480 resolution. Under the hood there's a dual-core processor running at 1GHz, which is pretty impressive when you consider that when the Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 was also powered by a 1GHz Dual-Core chip. There's also 512MB of RAM for running those Tizen apps with 4GB of internal storage available.

So what do you think? Is it worth spending £330-340 on a smart watch? Something you have to factor in when comparing the Gear S to its rivals such as Sony's SmartWatch 3 and Motorola's Moto 360 offerings is the Gear S's cellular ability. Whatever you decide, let us know at our Google Plus page.
