This Friday, another big phone heads to AT&T. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2. Which was quietly announced a few months ago over in China, has made it's way over to the US and to AT&T. It's a 6-inch device, replacing the Galaxy Mega 6.3, which we did review last year and really liked. AT&T will be offering the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 for $474.99 off contract, or $149.99 on contract. If you're looking to pick it up on AT&T Next, it'll cost you$19.80 a month with Next 18, $23.75 a month with Next 12. It's not a high-end device, but it is a pretty good mid-range phablet from Samsung.
As far as the specs go here, we're looking at a 6-inch 720p Display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. There's also a 8MP camera on the back with 4X Zoom. So specs are about where they were with the Galaxy Mega 6.3 last year, however, we do have a newer build for the Galaxy Mega 2. As you can see in the picture, we've got the faux leather back. So it looks like it'll be identical to the way the Galaxy Tab 4 family looks like. It also has the newest version of Touchwiz, which is a bit more toned down compared to last year's version. Which is definitely nice.
I mentioned earlier that we reviewed the Galaxy Mega 6.3 last year and loved it, that was mainly for the battery life. Battery life was pretty insane, and with the Snapdraogn 400 inside, performance was not an issue before. I think I've said this in every review of a device sporting the Snapdragon 400, is that it's a beast of a processor, even though it's a mid-range processor, according to Qualcomm.
So who's planning on picking up the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 from AT&T on Friday? Be sure to let us know in the comments down below.
