Samsung Galaxy K Zoom Finds its Way to Canada's Corporate Stores and Rogers

Back in late April, Samsung announced in Singapore the successor to the Galaxy S4 Zoom, the new Galaxy K Zoom - they decided to disassociate it from the Galaxy S smartphone series and start using the new 'K' for their camera/phone.  Like its predecessor, it is basically a 4.8-inch smartphone with a 20.7MP camera attached to its back with 10x Optical Zoom, equivalent to 24-240mm focal length.  Our source has just learned that Samsung will be selling the new Galaxy K Zoom in its Canadian corporate stores, unlocked of course for compatibility with any carrier.  Now as far as networks and bands it supports - the Galaxy K Zoom SM-C115W model in the support page for Canada lists: Band 4 (AWS), Band 7 (2600MHz) and Band 17 (700MHz).  When Rogers sells the Galaxy K Zoom in its own corporate stores, the device will undoubtedly be locked, however, you would be able to get a subsidized price for a two-year term.  No pricing was announced, but in Germany it was priced about $650.

When it comes to the Samsung Galaxy K Zoom, it is more about the camera than the smartphone and display - however, we are looking at a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a 1280 x 720 resolution with 306 pixels-per-inch (PPI).  It features an Exynos Hexa-Core processor made up of a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and a dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz.  It features 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot for an additional 64GB of storage.  It comes with Wi-Fi: 802.11 a/b/g/n 2.4+5GHz, HT40, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE, USB 2.0, NFC, A-GPS + and GLONASS.  The device measures 137.5 x 70.8 x 16.6 mm, weighs in at 200 grams, and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat.  A 2430mAh battery powers the K Zoom.

The main excitement is the camera area - the main camera is 20.7 megapixels with a 1/2.3 BSI CMOS Sensor - similar to the one used on the Sony Xperia Z3 - with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), 10x Optical Zoom, 24-240mm, F3.1-6.3 and Auto-Focus Assist LED.  It features: Auto, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, Continuous Shot: 3fps MAX with AF, Format: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WBMP, BMP, AGIF, Xenon Flash, SMART Mode, Expert Mode(P/M), My Mode. The front-facing camera (FFC) is 2.0MP. Please hit us up on our Google+ Page and let us know if you would be interested in a device such as the Galaxy K Zoom...as always, we would love to hear from you.
