Oppo R5 Specs

Oppo N3 definitely took the spotlight at Oppo's press conference in Singapore, but Oppo announced another appealing device there. Oppo R5 doesn't carry N3's specifications, but it's not far behind either. This device is 4.85mm thin and is quite possibly the thinnest phone in the world now, Gionee Elife S5.1 carried that title until now with its 5.15mm thickness. Anyhow, let's take a closer look at Oppo R5's specifications.

Oppo R5 features a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p (1920 x 1080, 423ppi) AMOLED display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615, a 64-bit octa-core SoC clocked at 2.1GHz which comes with an Adreno 405 GPU for graphics processing. On the back of the device you'll find a 13-megapixel camera featuring Sony's IMX214 sensor (f2.0 aperture) which is flanked by an LED flash. 5-megapixel shooter is located at the front side of the device and it offers an 80-degree wide angle lens. Oppo R5 also features VOOC rapid charging capabilities, just like the Oppo Find 7 and Oppo N3. Oppo didn't give us exact charging numbers when it comes to this device, but this technology can charge Oppo N3's 3000mAh battery from 0 to 75% in just 30 minutes, so I guess it does even a better job on Oppo R5's 2000mAh battery.

R5 measures 148.9 x 74.5 x 4.85mm while it weighs 155 grams. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this device with Oppo's ColorOS 2.0 on top of it. This software actually brings tons of features with it, gestures for example. By default you can draw a letter "V" to activate flashlight or "W" to launch WeChat. You can of course customize your gestures. The software offering also gives Oppo's camera a lot of modes, like "HD Picture, Super Macro, Professional, GIF Mode and so on. WiFi a/b/g/n, GPS, MicroUSB 2.0, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 are all included in this device and it has support for the following bands: GSM850/900/1800/1900 ; WCDMA850/900/1900/2100 ; FDD-LTE B1/3/7  and TD-LTE B40. So, as you can see, this is a 4G LTE device. The device will be available in Silver, Gold and Grey colors and just like Oppo N3 it sports a metallic frame.
