Last night, Amazon kinda jumped the gun by putting the Nexus 9 up for pre-order. Now Best Buy has the HTC-made Nexus 9 up for pre-order as well - still waiting on Google Play. They are offering all three models. That's the 16GB for $399, the 32GB for $479 and the 32GB LTE for $599. The prices are exactly the same as what Google is charging on the Play Store, which is a bit surprising as retailers usually mark it up. Although the Nexus 7 sold at Best Buy for the same price as Google was selling it, so there's that. Best Buy isn't showing when the device will ship, and it's currently only available in stores. However, we do know that Google Play and Amazon are going to be shipping pre-orders on November 3rd and it'll be on our doorstep on November 4th if we use Amazon Prime's next day shipping for $3.99.
The Nexus 9 is a 8.9-inch tablet from Google. It ironically has the same resolution as the iPads from Apple. That's 2048x1536, for those wondering. It's also sporting the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor - the 64 bit version - as well as 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage and a 6700mAh battery. There are both front-facing and rear-facing cameras on the Nexus 9, although they aren't the best and I wouldn't recommend using a tablet camera for taking pictures.
It's a great tablet from HTC and it's great to see them returning to the tablet game finally. Also great to have another Nexus from HTC. We're very excited to get our Nexus 9's in house so that we can get going on a full review of the Nexus 9 and see just how well HTC did with this tablet. How many of you are pre-ordering your HTC Nexus 9 today from Best Buy? Or are you going to a different retailer?
